Windtech’s 20+ years of experience in the manufacturing business has led the company to continuously add and improve our inspection capabilities in order to offer higher quality assemblies to every customer.

With a large variety of visual, electrical and dimensional/mechanical inspections, our team can cover a wide range of the standard and special inspection requirements on most applications.

All of Windtech’s inspection equipment, machines and tools are calibrated in accordance to ISO/IEC 17025:2017, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 and are traceable to national and international standards such as NIST, CENAM, NPL, DIN, etc.

We perform 100% Final Inspection prior shipping, and multiple in-process validations to make sure all parts comply with your requirements at every stage.

DIMENSIONAL/MECHANICAL INSPECTION

COORDINATE MEASURING MACHINE

Our Hexagon model SF 7.10.7 CMM, powered by PC-DMIS software, with a working space of 29”x40”x27” [710 x 1010 x 680 mm], is ideal for high tolerance requirements, special geometries, GD&T and automatic inspection programs.

With a precision up to 0.00008” in all axes and measurements, it covers all standard requirements in the industry and beyond.

IMAGE DIMENSION MEASUREMENT SYSTEM

Our Keyence model IM-7030T Image Measuring System with a working area of 11.81″×7.87″ [300 × 200 mm] is a top-of-the-line system capable of measurement of up to 99 dimensions in a few seconds with a single button press.

With a precision up to 0.00027”, it is ideal for lamination inspection, small features and large batches with the best repeatability and precision.

OPTICAL COMPARATOR

Our Mitutoyo Optical comparator, with a dedicated processing unit, is a standard profile projector with a 10” x 6” XY working table travel and Z axis freedom.

Its 0.0005” precision and data acquisition/processing unit, makes is a must-have equipment in all manufacturing facilities.

AIR-GAGE

Related to our diameter honing/grinding services, high precision air-gaging inspection is a need, specially where attribute inspections are not suitable due to tolerancing or investment.

With a precision and resolution up to 0.00001” and air-probes capabilities from .044″(1.1 mm) to 6.26″(160 mm), it is one of the best ways of inspecting tight tolerance ground parts, reaching areas where a CMM is not usually capable of.

BORE GAGE, MICROMETER, INDICATOR, CALIPER, OTHERS

All standard measuring methods are widely used at Windtech, with multiple equipment and tools, and a large stock of them. Their use is part of our everyday work and inspection processes.

A few of the most common

  • Bore gages 0.9000”-3.000”.
  • Micrometers 0.0000”-8.0000”
  • Indicators with 0.00005” precision.
  • Height gages with 0.001” precision.
  • Calipers 0.0000”-40.0000” with 0.0005” resolution.
  • Many Others

ELECTRICAL INSPECTION

RESISTANCE

Dedicated ohm and milliohm meters are available throughout the manufacturing process to monitor the resistance of all assemblies, with a range of 0.01mOhm to 20.0 kOhm and a precision up to 99.9% of the actual measurement.

HIPOT

Hipot inspection is a standard practice in most motors’ designs and applications. Our testers have DC and AC voltage settings ranging from 0.1-5kV, leakage current and test time adjustment functions that meet most of the industry requirements.

INDUCTANCE

High precision LCR with different ranges and frequency adjustment capabilities, are suitable for most Inductance measurements with a range of 10.0μH to 9999.99H and a precision up to 99.9%.

Capacitance, impedance, reactance, phase angle and many other parameters are also within these testers’ functions.

SURGE

Also called Impulse Winding Testers, this test is intended to identify phase to phase or wire to wire insulation failures. With different comparison methods, such as Standard Waveform, Differential Area and Area size, our testers cover most of our customers’ needs.

Back EMF

This test is intended to evaluate the actual performance/efficiency of a motor assembly, a must have test in any motor manufacturing facility.

Windtech offers custom test bench design with dedicated working stations, fixtures, driver motors, VDFs, oscilloscopes and all components needed to properly measure and analyze the electromotive force coming back from the system.

VISUAL INSPECTION / OTHER INSPECTIONS

SENSOR ALIGNMENT

For all HES (Hall Effect Sensors) assemblies, as well as in other sensor assemblies, properly place these electronic components is a need, in order to be able to control a motor system more efficiently.

With our dedicated test stations, oscilloscopes, fixtures and other custom-made parts for each application, Windtech is capable to align and verify the position of most HES application according to a specific timing required on the stator/motor design.

IPC/J-STD COMPLIANT STATIONS

With IPC/J-STD certified trainers at Windtech, our inspection team complies with both of these standards. Dedicated inspection stations are placed throughout our manufacturing process, in order to comply with all our customers’ needs on connections inspection.

ESD COMPLIANT STATIONS

Windtech’s inspection stations are also compliant with ESD applications considering all due requirements and measures, such as ESD safe trays, wrist straps, grounded inspection stations, safety mats, shielded bags, etc.

Our team has plenty of experience working with single ESD components, PCBs, and stator/motor assemblies with ESD requirements.

UP TO 45X MAGNIFICATION INSPECTION

Microscopes are available in all of Windtech’s inspection stations and throughout the manufacturing process, with up to 45X magnifying capabilities, our visual inspections capabilities meet most of our customers’ needs and requirements.

INSULATION RESISTANCE

A dielectric test that measures the equivalent resistance of the insulation system of the part, it is helpful to determine any breakdown or problem between winding and core (or any other device). A standard test for most wound assemblies.
